STAY: Hotel Villa Honegg
We spent 2 nights in here at Hotel Villa Honegg, which is located in the heart of Switzerland high above Lake Lucerne. Known for its massive heated outdoor jacuzzi pool with panoramic views. The hotel has stunning views for every season thanks to the of the surrounding mountains and the lake.
We barely left the hotel, it was such a pleasure to stay here. We wake up every morning around 5am so we can be the first ones in the pool to watch the sunrise. Then we have breakfast on the outdoor patio where they provide you with fur coats so you don’t freeze. On our first day here, we drove to the city for the carnival after breakfast. The location is great as you can drive into the city in under 30 minutes. We drove back to the hotel right after watching Fasnacht, partly because we couldn’t wait to get back in the pool but also because the road was pretty dark so we wanted to get back by sunset. After we got in the pool for the second time, we went to dinner at the hotel restaurant where cuisine focuses on locally sourced seasonal ingredients.
During our stay we found ourselves immersing in the spa majority of the times: first pool then steam bath follow by sauna. On our second day, we were in the pool 3 different times. In fact, the only times we weren’t in the spa were mostly for food. Other than swimming, the hotel also offers other activities including hiking trails and biking around the entire property. We truly felt at home here and we can’t wait to come back!

At first, I realized most of the people were there for the photos but they were also scared about what others would think of them so no one took their cameras out. Thus, Bradley also didn’t want to take pictures of me but of course I ignored it. And I’m glad I did because as soon as I started taking pictures so did the other guests. We ended up taking pictures for each other and had a lot of fun together. This just goes to show how insecurities kill happiness, so it’s important to throw negative vibes away because you only live once.
