Jungfraujoch is the highest railway station in Europe. Hence, the phrase “Jungfrau” which means Top of Europe. It is a high-altitude building located in the Swiss canton of Valais overlooking Aletsch Glacier.
This day was one for the books. We took the earliest train to Jungfraujoch so we could spend a whole day and truly explore the iconic building. From Ice Palace to Alpine Sensation, the place is filled with many things to do. Especially the Glacier Plateau, you don’t get much better view than overlooking the Black Forest, the Vosges, and the Aletsch Glacier giving you the true “Top of Europe” experience.
The day was extremely windy and freezing, making it incredibly hard to take the gloves off to take photos outside. Which is why we asked a stranger to take the photos for us. This poor girl could not say no to us when we asked her to step out onto the Plateau and took pictures of us from every angle we wanted. Note to self: ignore strangers like us who would ask you to take a bunch of photos when you are freezing your butt off.
We had so much sliding up and down the Ice Palace taking photos, videos, and boomerang in front of every displays. Be careful though, the ice is extremely slippery.
