Malibu Birthday

For Bradley’s birthday this year, we spent it at Malibu Beach Inn. Our room was the King Pier room, click here for more hotel room information.

I do regret booking this room though, there was construction going on outside of our hotel room at the time and the sliding door couldn’t close all the way shut so would’ve been nice if the hotel front desk had told me this news prior to booking the room. We were also supposed to do a couples’ massage together upon check-in; however, the hotel told me last minute that they only had one masseuse available that day so that was ruined too. Luckily, Bradley is such an optimistic person that he wasn’t upset at all even though I was really thrown by everything.

We spent the day walking along the coast of Santa Monica/ Malibu prior to checking-in. While Bradley was getting his massage, I was setting up the room making everything pretty for him: arranging the cake, champagne, chocolate covered strawberries. Afterwards, we went to Nobu Malibu for drinks while the sun sets. Tips* Make sure to ALWAYS book a reservation with Nobu if you want to have a seating. The first time we went, we were lucky that they had a canceled reservation for a booth on their outdoor patio but they’re always fully booked. Then we spent the rest of the evening ordering room services and falling asleep to ocean waves.

We woke up early the next day for a morning swim as the sun rises. As it was in early April and early morning, the water was freezing despite the beaming sun. After our refreshing swim, we had a nice breakfast from their Carbon Beach Club Restaurant while enjoying the Malibu waves.
