NOLA

New Orleans is world-renowned for many things: jazz music, historical architectures, Creole cuisine, museums, and festivals especially Mardi Gras. With French Quarter being the heart of the city, it is well-known for its French and Spanish Creole buildings and vibrant nightlife. The historical city is often used as an inspiration for many creative works including television shows and movies.

When I was going through chemo, I watched a lot of Netflix. One show in particular is ‘The Originals’ which is based in New Orleans, Louisiana. So when I told my bestie about wanting to go there, without any hesitation, she booked plane tickets for us to go. I seriously won the lottery in the friendship department.

We had so much fun listening to live jazz music performing in the French Quarter all hours of the day, going on tours touring the French Quarter and Garden district, and eating so much food. Since we visited during late June/ early July, we would’ve done more sightseeings if it wasn’t for the hot weather. After visiting the eclectic city myself, I can understand why people say describing NOLA can fill a book.
